A company that cares about it employees? - Anonymous employee GE Employee Review

I was laid off after many years. Close to retirement. Told I was being replaced by a contract nurse. It didn't matter I only had a few years to retirement nor could my immediate boss offer any input . It was a higher up decision. Loyalty and hard work of the blue collar population doesn't mean anything to the higher up. I worked so hard there. Made a lot of improvements in the day to day operation. I will always have this gut reaction of disgust and distaste whenever I see that GE logo .
