Pros
Unlimited vacation, working remotely, friendly, high caliber and knowledgeable employees.
Cons
Once your hired, your stuck in that role and it’s a dead-end. . There is no opportunity for advancement and no “real” professional development. When a higher level role opens up, they go to the outside to hire externally versus rewarding and promoting very successful employees from within. If you apply for the higher level role, you’re given the runaround. This causes a lot of turmoil to train and bring an outsider up to speed vs. promoting someone who typically possesses 10+ years more experience and knowledge than the newbie, and knows the inner workings of the GE Healthcare business. With recent downsizing, cuts and layoffs, newbies, fearing they are “last-in, first-out” and for their roles are taking over their direct reports responsibilities in an attempt to secure a role for themselves. All of this has led to creating a toxic tug-of-war working environment.
