We respectfully disagree that GEI is a place to “get your career started, then move on.” We have many professionals that have enjoyed long tenure and rewarding, successful careers at GEI. While you highlight some of the things we’re proud about, such as our hybrid work environment and total rewards, we believe there is a lot at GEI for employees to enjoy. We established our utilization goals at the median of our industry to allow non-billable time for employees to attend learning opportunities within and external to our organization.
We are focused on high level of engagement and mentoring across all levels of GEI and have a robust Learning & Organizational Development Program. For example, we just had our PM Workshop with over 500 mid-level professionals connecting in person to network and learn more about effective project management. We also have three levels of our Leadership Development and Building Blocks (focused on how to build client relationships) programs so that professionals of all levels have an opportunity to learn and grow. Our eLearning system has thousands of on-demand learning opportunities to help support growth and development of interpersonal, professional and technical skills.
We have a variety of ways to engage in supporting our culture from getting involved in diverse project teams across our company to work on interesting projects for our clients to a variety of company committees. We also encourage quality, in person engagement weekly while enjoying the flexibility of our hybrid work environment. We would encourage you to engage in these activities so you feel more plugged into our culture and explore why over 87% of our employees recommend GEI as a great place to work!
For our total rewards program, we regularly benchmark our program to make sure it’s above market to attract and support the retention of professionals. Our paid time off policy, consistently benchmarks in the top percentile in our industry. When we implemented our paid parental leave several years ago it was also above benchmarks in our industry. With that, we’re happy to report that in reviewing benchmarks, our industry, as a whole, has increased what is offered and we’ll also be reviewing our program as well. Stay tuned for updates on this program later this year.
