Pros

The benefits are mediocre. The training will set you up to work in insurance and they don't require a college degree... But any company that's going to pay you more will want college so not really helpful that they don't require it.

Cons

Below average pay for the industry. Benefit cuts are normal. No profit sharing. No motivation to do a good job, because your pay isn't determined by anything you do. Metrics and goals are so high the only way you can meet them is working through your breaks and working off the clock every day. If you have at 5pm, your boss makes a smug comment. It's totally normal to come to work on a Saturday unpaid to catch up on work. You will work holidays. Hours are not flexible. Work from home was eliminated. If you're fired they will fight your unemployment claim. You will change bosses like underwear. New month, new boss. There isn't support when you need it. If you need guidance on something, it's not available.

Pros

Decent pay and remote work.

Cons

Poor management at all levels, and high turnover in the IT department. Profit sharing was initially offered when I started in 2013 but disappeared after covid. Management laid off most of the IT staff that had the technical and insurance knowledge in favor of bringing in new staff to transition GEICO into a tech company. Not sure what the status of the IT department is in 2026.
