Pros
+ awesome coworkers + ok pay + profit sharing
Cons
- the claims department is being run by the most incompetent manager who ever lived - anyone with a college degree can become a manager; it doesn't matter how socially awkward, absent-minded, or outright useless you are; if you are power-hungry and love abusing authority, you should apply for a department manager position at geico because they will hire you - back to back phone calls all day - not allowed to use call wrap-up time to finish documenting/fixing a claim - you are not allowed to take a few min off the phone to go use the bathroom - your supervisor can do whatever they want, right or wrong, and management will tell you to deal with it - when customers ask to speak to a supervisor, you will have one heck of a time finding a supervisor who will agree to take the call - you will leave work every day wondering why the heck you are working in such a mentally-taxing environment - you are chained to the phone all day, with the exception of lunch and breaks - HOWEVER, your supervisor will hint that you need to work your diary through your lunch to catch up but the thing is that you will not be paid for it - they offer benefits but be prepared to pay a boatload for them - geico makes me hate my life every single day - supervisors are very vocal about how they feel about politics, people, and about you; be prepared to deal with blatant racism and being belittled if you are a non-white, non-republican - your coworkers are miserable too and you will see people just throw off their headset and walk out on a daily basis, never to return
