Pros
1) Opportunity to work with a lot of new technology 2) A diverse group of colleagues 3) Opportunity to move between different groups doing different things.
Cons
1) Work environment that is not as flexible as other organizations. Don't be surprised if you are asked to come in early so you can leave early for an appointment or if you are asked to check in with your manager through out the day when you work from home. 2) Teams may have relatively inexperienced leads due to trainees rotating as they get trained to be in leadership positions. You may end up in a team where the lead relies on you more than you rely on them or worse and there may not be enough supervision from higher ups to smooth things over. 3) Leadership sometimes pushes the idea of being frugal a little too far. Don't expect your manger to take the team out for lunch often or even occasionally. No free coffee or snacks. This sometimes even gets in the way of getting things that actual matter in doing your job such as trainings, special tools you need, extra monitors, standing desks, etc. 4) When you join as a new employee you may not have health insurance for three months.
