Pros

great benefits, really nice people, good equipment/tools/resources, you're surrounded by smart people

Cons

Geico has sold its soul. Locally you're valued, but to Director level and above, you're just a number. To quote the movie Ben-Hur, "We keep you alive to serve this ship. Row well, and live." If you use FMLA for an ongoing condition, you will be managed out. Your immediate supervisor will never be given time to properly manage you or support you. You will not be given enough time for your supervisor to do an side-by-side call monitoring or one-on-one coaching. If you have a problem, your supervisor will not have time for you because they are spread too thin. and will not be allowed to let you sign out to work on the problem. If your numbers suffer because you need coaching or help but aren't getting it, that's just too bad, tough luck. Figure it out on your own. The people who talk about Geico being a great experience are long time employees who remember it the way it was, and are blind to the way it is now. Either that or they aren't working in the call center. TO POTENTIAL EMPLOYERS: Long-term Geico employees have had fantastic training. More recent hires haven't been given adequate time to access the great resources Geico has in place.

Pros

Decent pay and remote work.

Cons

Poor management at all levels, and high turnover in the IT department. Profit sharing was initially offered when I started in 2013 but disappeared after covid. Management laid off most of the IT staff that had the technical and insurance knowledge in favor of bringing in new staff to transition GEICO into a tech company. Not sure what the status of the IT department is in 2026.
