Pros
The company is currently looking to hire outside hires which is very different than our historic promote from within culture.
Cons
GEICO has become a very unstable employer since its new CEO took over 3 years ago. After 40+ years of no layoffs, layoffs happen regularly. You can be hired into a department and less than 3 months later be laid off. No transparency about the state of the company and no communication on the company's direction. Right now the company is struggling to make a profit and is not growing. The associates as well as the management team are without information as to the company's direction or just how concerning our profit and growth issues are. The total reward benefits (non-salary) continue to be reduced each year. The profit sharing program was ended last year. Our health benefits continue to be reduced.
