Pros

They offer good pto, affordable health, dental, vision Free life insurance

Cons

- You will be punished for using time off, including if you have fmla - These days they try to fire ppl over minor mistakes - Mass layoffs even after they say your jobs safe - SEVERE micromanagement. It used to not be this way but with all the changes they are bad about it now. - Reduction in benefits without addl pay to make up for it, such as short term disability and profit sharing which used to average 20% of our salary - Horrible communication - Lies and deceit - They said my position would be perm wfh, then said once per quarter, then once a month, then once a week. - Gaslighting - The new head management sucks. They only care about the numbers - They are trying to keep as few people as possible and giving high workloads you can't keep up with - They used to have a lot of room for advancement, but that is no longer the case - Some sups are great, while others create a hostile work environment and speak to employees in an unacceptable manor to the point they've had to be told it's not ok and ppl have quit. Nothing was done by management. - Upper management will ask you to submit questions and will hold a meeting about it, but when you ask during the meeting they'll keep talking around it instead of answering the question. When it's mentioned in team meetings, the supervisors will pull whoever said it aside and they'll get in trouble for telling the truth. - They don't care about providing good customer service anymore. - They completely ditched their prev core values Upper management changed a couple years back and the company has gone down hill

Pros

*Pay and your ability to negotiate as an external hire are better than most places *You are only expected to work 7 hrs and 45 min; clock-out time is on the dot and strict.

Cons

*Understaffed; multiple people are on medical leave due to the toxic work environment and the metrics system *Leadership is usually unprepared and inexperienced; there is a serious lack of understanding from leaders when you address inconsistencies in auditing. A lot of leaders score people's work inaccurately, and depending on whether your leaders like you, the appeal process is rarely honored. *there is hardly any overtime so many people work off the clock, even when addressing this with directors and HR- nothing will change. they will protect the company; everyone is aware that people are experiencing wage theft- no one does anything to change it out of fear of losing their job. * If you point out any discrepancies, you will be targeted-there is a consistent issue with retaliation at GEICO.
