Pros

Somehow they still have work?

Cons

This company loves to rubber-stamp techs through training and send them out completely unprepared. Which would be bad enough if they at least gave each tech a rescue kit, but they don't, it's 1 per team. There are some great project managers but there are also some really terrible ones. They are constantly last minute, and never send the right kit out of the warehouse. They alter incident reports to make them sound less bad and they hire a bunch of contractors and have them work on tourists visas. I've met some wonderful techs at this company and I fear for them, because this company does not care about safety.

Thanks for your feedback. We have done a great job of building out a comprehensive, in-house training center that includes a full-time Training Manager and 2 full-time instructors. Training center includes GWO Blade Repair, Basic Safety Training, Slinger Signaller, Advanced Rescue Training, Basic Technical Training. It is making a great difference in helping us develop a great workforce. Safety is a Top Priority and a Core Principle. It is entirely false that we would ever alter an incident report, after a thorough, root-cause analysis is conducted. We have a full-time Safety Manager with 22 years safety experience and 7 years in the wind industry. We also have 3 field engineers deployed with a focus on QA/QC, and Safety. We have no OSHA recordable incidents in more than 28 months. Industry-required, compliant rescue kits as required by the industry are provided which are suitable for the work being performed.

Pros

Some flexibility. Peers are easy to work with. Have potential to be a great work place.

Cons

Male oriented industry. Unfair business practices. Very little team building activities. Rules and procedures are based on who you are. Some indirect racism when it comes to pay raises and job security. Management will not admit accountability if something goes wrong. If mistakes are made by management, they are hidden or covered. Mistakes made by anyone below management are recorded In without employee's knowledge. In general, the environment is negative and a lot of favoritism.
