Electronic hiring process with recruiter was simple. Company and Department staff welcomed me into the team. Now 6 months employed with GF I can say this company is great to work for and has the growth potential for all levels of staff and disciplines.
Cons
Starting a new job during a national pandemic and offices shutdown, there was some difficulty getting to know the company systems and processes. The learning process just took a bit longer than normal.
GFT Response

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the review and for choosing Gannett Fleming. As an AEC professional, I'm sure you had many career options. Making the switch during the pandemic likely intensified those first day butterflies we all encounter when joining a new company. Virtual hiring and onboarding certainly presented us with new challenges. We are grateful for the hard work and flexibility management, HR and IT as we made adjustments internally to address those challenges. It's encouraging to hear your feedback but we do recognize there is room for improvement and continue to evaluate our processes to make that happen.

Business Outlook
Pros
great company culture, promotional opportunities, great mentorship, environment where communication is open. strong commitment to diversity.
Cons
I cant think of any that are important enough to mention
As a national firm, GFT has a huge emphasis and impact on many transportation and infrastructure projects, and work quite heavily with many DOTs/federal organizations. I also appreciated the diversity present within my office and leadership teams, which is a huge positive for minorities.
Cons
Mentorship opportunities are practically non-existent. I worked in a location which was WFH 2 days a week, and a lot of the staff would be bogged down with many projects at hand, unable to regularly provide help. A few of the senior engineers at my office in particular were condescending to junior staff. Huge expectation on junior staff to produce high results without very little instruction and oversight. Also freakishly annoying with utilization rates and work tracking.
