Pros

Transit & Rail started out as a good group to work for, before everything became more corporate and bad decisions led to good people losing their jobs.

Cons

Transit & Rail was once a small group that worked well within a certain niche, but now has spread itself too far and thin with far too much talent having walked away or otherwise parted with the company.

GFT Response
4y
Gannett Fleming Transit and Rail has developed a solid reputation for providing exceptional technical consulting and advisory services over the past several decades. We have been growing and of course with growth comes change, as well as some growing pains. Every organization will experience a certain amount of turnover. We have hired some amazing talent through the pandemic and continue to deliver high quality results to our clients in both in the Greater Philadelphia area and throughout North America.

Pros

As a national firm, GFT has a huge emphasis and impact on many transportation and infrastructure projects, and work quite heavily with many DOTs/federal organizations. I also appreciated the diversity present within my office and leadership teams, which is a huge positive for minorities.

Cons

Mentorship opportunities are practically non-existent. I worked in a location which was WFH 2 days a week, and a lot of the staff would be bogged down with many projects at hand, unable to regularly provide help. A few of the senior engineers at my office in particular were condescending to junior staff. Huge expectation on junior staff to produce high results without very little instruction and oversight. Also freakishly annoying with utilization rates and work tracking.
