Pros

Green Hasson Janks helps to pay with the medical insurance, life insurance, phone bill reimbursement, and gym membership. Many of the people below the partners/principals take the time to teach and guide you as you start. Entry level staff will learn a lot and are expected to come with a sense of urgency to learn. People can work from home most of the days.

Cons

The current tax department needs major improvements to fix the problems that has rose. Most of the workers talk among one another and feel that the partners focus more about meeting their revenue goals than fixing the employee's morale. Even though the most recent reviews may look great on the firm, there needs to be more representation of how the tax department is. Within the past 6 months, there has been a great deal of turnover. This is due to the fact that there has been a shortage of workers, no regards for a person's work life balance during the off season, no consideration of the worker's workload/schedule, and to top things off no luck in finding quality hires. Sure, it's public accounting and the hours are expected, but if the tone atop thinks negative about the situations arising, then the workers will react negatively. Additionally, management needs to take a look at the workers there and appreciate what they are doing/have done for the company. This past tax reason review resulted in high turnover and poor compensation. It's unfair how things are said during the evaluations/round table meetings; especially since the criticism and reviews spread to people outside these meetings. One last thing, there has been a number of complaints regarding the tax scheduler. The partners may not see this, but they need to really bring this to attention.

Pros

People are fun at work parties and other social events.

Cons

They are understaffed for their workload and as such, will assign you more work than you have capacity for. When you fail, there isn't any support for leadership, they won't give you timely feedback to correct any issues and won't allow you time to fix any issues when you finally get formal feedback (saw this issue at my level and for employees at lower levels). You also won't get any credit for how much you are working, so wouldn't suggest doing more than absolutely needed.
