Pros

3 Weeks vacation Opportunities to work with some very high profile (buy-side) clients and industry executives - leads to a very valuable network You're given a significant amount of responsibility in a short amount of time A lot of flexibility to manage your accounts and projects the way you please - depending on your group/manager Some great people to work with at the individual contributor level - somewhat of a collegiate environment with people that are very intelligent, motivated and friendly

Cons

Work is very mundane and you're asked to perform menial tasks all the time by clients and senior colleagues No career or skills development - management expects people to do what they're asked for a year or two and then move on - attrition is alarmingly high and management consciously ignores it Poor work/life balance depending on your client base, workload is not distributed fairly among teammates Compensation is below market average - bonus is arbitrary and highly dependent on how well management likes you, overly political. Bonus is also significantly below what is initially communicated as a typical range Management is obsessed with short-term metrics that have no clear correlation to business growth, performance evaluation is a joke, promotions and raises almost completely depend on your relationship with some key individuals and how good you are at sucking up

Pros

Amazing people - lots of reviews say that because it's true. You'll work with smart, genuine, hard working humans. Good benefits and perks. Interesting events and opportunities to learn. Overall, a good place to start your career!

Cons

Very fast-paced environment which definitely isn't for everyone. Lots of necessary change.

Pros

Great co-workers, solid healthcare plans (with transgender coverage!) and excellent leave policies.

Cons

Five or six years ago GLG was an incredible place to work. It was inclusive and fun. Then Paul Todd left and everything went downhill so fast it gave me whiplash. New CHRO was a buddy of the new CEOs and the nepo hires continued from there. So many RIFs that the teams are all skeletal, and everything that made the amazing culture at GLG disappeared. I may recommend GLG for a new grad desperate for something to put on their resume, it’s probably fine for that. As far as the company I loved and genuinely enjoyed being a part of? Well that’s long dead. Management is catty and they’re all watching their own backs, everyone is working scared and willing to push anyone else under the bus.
