Pros

They have semi-good benefits and an on-site gym

Cons

- All of the “plenty of room for advancement” they brag about is a lateral move, with no raise in pay. - There aren’t any other departments locally so you have to fight for a spot up the chain of command against the other 500+ who want it. -The only way to truly advance is to brown nose. They call it “networking” but it’s brown nosing. If you’re a slacker, but you can be fake, you’re in, as long as you’re young enough. Or you could just have improper relations with one of the AVPs. -They don’t care if they lose good employees. Everyone is replaceable to them -The team leads gossip, about other members of management and team members. Not very professional. -They will openly discriminate against you and make an excuse for doing so, without repercussion -Don’t have a spine. They prefer “leaders” who can’t think, or stand up for themselves, especially those that love to be coddled and who cower to any sign of confrontation. In other words, they prefer lap dogs

Pros

I'm a senior-level software engineer, previously worked at tech companies, and this job is relatively easy for me. No on-call, work-life balance is good. I usually get everything done within 2-week sprints.

Cons

GMF is the true definition of work hard, not smart. There are so many dumb engineers. There was a time I had to work with non-technical teams like prod support, and it was quite frustrating. They wanted my team to build an automation so they didn't have to work manually as if anything is possible and there is no limitation within the company. I didn't even create a backlog item as it was a waste of time.
