Pros

Great flexibility, good work/life balance

Cons

No real growth opportunities, A lot of favoritism, promotions on tenure a lot of times equal no good leaders, you have to snitch or kiss behind to get to the top, managers and some AVP work together to make sure you fail if you don't do as you are told or go above them to make things happen for yourself. They let conflict go on causing a nightmare of an environment to work in. AVPs are clicked up and are for each other rather than fighting for the good of the people. They depend on leaders that don't care to let them know your progress. If they don't like you, they will find a way to give you poor ratings so you will not get a good raise, or do things to make you want to leave the company.

Pros

I'm a senior-level software engineer, previously worked at tech companies, and this job is relatively easy for me. No on-call, work-life balance is good. I usually get everything done within 2-week sprints.

Cons

GMF is the true definition of work hard, not smart. There are so many dumb engineers. There was a time I had to work with non-technical teams like prod support, and it was quite frustrating. They wanted my team to build an automation so they didn't have to work manually as if anything is possible and there is no limitation within the company. I didn't even create a backlog item as it was a waste of time.
