Pros

Pay plan is great if you are in a good assignment. Some areas barely get any commission. The ability to set your own schedule is also great. GM Company car program is very good.

Cons

On the ACF side, it is a hard program to sell, but not impossible. COVID tightening really hurt everyone in sales and credit for ACF. Commissions were slashed because of lack of volume. Credit was moved to reduced working hours. It has been impossible to claw back from. Management likes to give tasks that don't drive business. There are completed because you do not want to get a wrist slap. They operate out of fear and not respect or inspiration. The only management I had that was worse than this was working in a dealership. It is not on-par with other corporate groups.

Pros

I'm a senior-level software engineer, previously worked at tech companies, and this job is relatively easy for me. No on-call, work-life balance is good. I usually get everything done within 2-week sprints.

Cons

GMF is the true definition of work hard, not smart. There are so many dumb engineers. There was a time I had to work with non-technical teams like prod support, and it was quite frustrating. They wanted my team to build an automation so they didn't have to work manually as if anything is possible and there is no limitation within the company. I didn't even create a backlog item as it was a waste of time.
