Pros
- Have meet some great friends and gained a lot of experience over the years. - Work from home is very flexible. - Seems to give an honest effort in being a leader towards DEI initiatives. At the end of the day, it is just to benefit the business, but better that than nothing. - Great place to work if you land on the right team.
Cons
- It is a corporate environment no matter how much they try to spin the marketing jargon back to us ("our people come first! You are StoryMakers!") We are owned by Omnicom and have to answer to them. Aka, money is the priority. Don't drink the Kool Aid. - There are no yearly merit increases or raises (which the company used to have). Instead we have Real Time Rewards. You must be nominated by leadership or your manger for a RTR. If you don't have a manager who is on top of that or cares about your career growth, you are not likely to get one. The reward amount given is not fixed. You are eligible for more than one a year. - Upward mobility is possible, but again, depends on your role and your team. Promotions only happen when there is an open position for it (team reorg, new business growth, someone leaves), so you may be better off looking for a new job than waiting (years) to move up. While good performance is rewarded, there is still an element of right place right time/luck. - If RTRs aren't sufficing, you need to fight for a raise. You (likely) will never just be given one. Come prepared and hold leadership accountable to map a plan out for your growth. - Can be a lack of focus from leadership in designing and implementing internal initiatives which leads to confusing communication and expectations for the employees. - Many have experienced low pay, burn out and inconsistent leadership.
