Pros

A few of my coworkers were the loveliest, most generous people I've ever worked with. My direct supervisors were both wonderful. Generous PTO -- but you can never use all of it because you're incredibly overworked. Unfortunately, none of these were enough to make up for GRID's incredibly toxic workplace culture.

Cons

Starting a new job is always tough, but when I started at GRID I felt like I was thrown into the deep ocean without a life jacket. From the beginning, I faced extreme hostility from key members of GRID staff despite being nothing but lovely to every person I interacted with. In many cases, I got complete radio silence from coworkers when I needed key data or information that only they could provide. Their withholding reflected poorly on me and I often had to step in to complete other coworkers' tasks so that I could do my job. In one extreme case, I had to coordinate and deliver a major project on behalf of my team's directors. Instead of thanking me, I faced retaliation from these coworkers. I was forced to work alongside a formidable bully. In the 10 months I worked with this person, they yelled at me in meetings, overly critiqued my work, gossiped about me, made snarky comments about me on Zoom when they were unknowingly unmuted, set me up to fail, and gaslit me. I did have a wonderful supervisor who was able to shield me from this coworker's wrath. However, my supervisor left after she had experienced her own countless frustrations with GRID. This organization is deeply unprofessional. Bullies are rewarded with promotions while genuine, hardworking individuals are underpaid and forced to suffer under their wrath. GRID has a wonderful mission but their workplace culture is completely toxic. They have an incredibly high turnover rate -- any capable, good-natured person either quits, is forced to leave, or gets fired.

Pros

Flexibility, benefits, fair pay, promoting from within, meaningful work, good culture, people who care.

Cons

Job security is somewhat variable because it depends on funding, which has big swings. Meeting practices could be improved.

Pros

people in my region were nice to work with

Cons

they talk a lot about good work culture and openness from the higher ups but then turned around and laid off 20% of their staff on a random friday with absolutely no notice. they restructured the entire company which supposedly they've been planning since february of this year. they laid off valuable employees who worked at this company for 15+ years!!!!! with zero remorse and sympathy.
