Pros

They seem to care about the work they do but it's layers of BS. You are told to smile, be courteous but lying to them residents all in the same breath.

Cons

We are told to show these immaculate models and the rest of the apartments often look horrible. Duke Manor for one. They dupe new residents into thinking you are going to get exactly what the model has to offer. Now, we all know it won't come with the furniture but once you show the actual apartment the resident will be getting the look of disgust appears. It's rather embarrassing. They have signed leases based off a lie you will be getting what the model showed and in some respects you do, the kitchens are remodeled but covered up. The cabinets are new but the inside of them aren't they just painted them. Bugs are crawling while residents are looking at the apartment, the model features brand new wash machines and dryers and that's NOT what you get. We are told to say oh we will get you those replaced when they have really said well if the old ones are broken strive to fix them first instead of doing exactly what we told the resident that they would be brand new. If the lies stop we wouldn't be bombarded with calls and emails of service requests. Things being placed in the apartment work for a few days or less and they are broken again. The space is too small to be charging these residents the amt of money they sign leases for. I honestly feel sorry for them.

Pros

Leadership is values-driven, approachable, and focused on long-term stability rather than short-term wins. You have direct access to decision-makers, your contributions are visible, and your work genuinely makes an impact. There’s also a level of flexibility and understanding that feels authentic, especially when it comes to work-life balance and personal circumstances.

Cons

Some processes move at a slower pace and the technology is not as advanced as in larger organizations, but ownership is aware of these gaps and is actively taking steps to address them.

Pros

Locked front door at Corporate

Cons

GSC was the most toxic place I have ever worked. Micromanagers who like to pass their work onto you, yet they take all the credit. Management salaries are unrealistically high compared to hourly employees. The lowest manager makes $75k and does nothing. Overtime is NOT an option. You MUST take lunch-can't skip to make up time if needed and work-from-home is not an option. Major double-standards between management and employees. Management can do no wrong-some employees get written up for the slightest thing, regardless if it was a right or wrong action. But on the opposite end, the toxic employees are allowed to do whatever without consequence. They like to talk a big game about "being there for you" and “one big family”, but it's all lies. You either drink the "koolaid" and conform, or you're ostracized until you quit so they won't have to pay unemployment. I sadly also lived at a GSC property-upper management rarely approves critical issues, let alone standard everyday fixes or issues. Two words: black mold.
