Scientists have the opportunity to work with the latest cutting edge technology, interact with therapy area KOLs, and generally be surrounded by great colleagues. The company mission is noble, and there is the opportunity to make a real difference if you are part of a program that leads to an approved medicine.
Cons
Employees can sometimes get lost in a huge company, and GSK could do a better job at rebooting the careers of the lost rather than letting them wander aimlessly through the halls like well compensated zombies. Priorities can change fast at GSK, and you never knew when you may find yourself on the losing side of a program, or site closure. Frequent re-orgs and layoffs maintained a certain level of anxiety for most. Often people would not speak up for fear of retribution.
