Pros

A really fun summer job, make new friends, work in a team, great for students.

Cons

long hours, you will be doing a 40+ hour work week, little pay, and the company does not offer as many scholarships at it could afford to. In the past the curriculum has has issues with cultural sensitivity but it is being improved upon.

Thanks for your review. We greatly value your perspective, and feel passionately about the fun, quality experience we provide! Camps days can definitely be long and they do require stamina. Our staff are paid overtime rates for hours in excess of 40 per week, but salary is only one benefit of being on our team. Beyond that, a summer with Galileo can provide professional development rewards and a like-minded network that can extend far beyond camp. Whether our staff are students, aspiring educators, artists, or engineers, over 97% say they'd recommend the experience to friends, and that's due in large part to the skills and relationships they build during one or more summers on our team. In terms of our programs and scholarships, we have a long history of self-funded financial aid for deserving campers (a company investment of almost $1 million last year). We’ve also forged new paths to ensure even more kids have access to programs like ours, which is why we’ve partnered with organizations like the Boys & Girls Club, the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative, and Oakland Unified School District.
