Fake enviroment and low compensation - Anonymous employee Galileo Learning Employee Review

I agreed to this low paying job because i had felxibilty as a substitute. I got paid $13/hr which I thought was a starting wage because oaklands minimum wage is $12.25. After hearing that normal team leaders from other areas were being paid $10/hr I was appalled. Considering minimum wage in Oakland/SF is in the $12 range I felt that the company was truely ripping off poor unknowing high school and college students. The staff was a mixed bag, good and bad. Some college students acted like immature high schoolers who left out anyone who didn't "fit in". I felt that the high schoolers were more mature than a lot of the young college students. As a sub position I felt very unprepared most of the time. During training days i got very little instruction and was just left to move chairs and tables. I felt like i was just being trown into a overwhelming situation where they expext you to know what your doing even though I had no idea what was going on due to lack of prior instrucion.
