Pros
The staff was young, very enthusiastic, and energetic. Some of the art activities were very creative (although they weren't fully tested on the age groups). The dress up days were very cute and the campers loved them.
Cons
I was hired to teach art, and was told I would be provided with the curriculum and trained with all materials. This absolutely did not happen. It was awful, trying to teach using two materials I'd never used before. Some of the art activities weren't really age appropriate, with the campers struggling to create the creations. With one art activities, the majority of sculptures fell apart, with no fault of the campers. I was in a science room. Sounds great, right? It was terrible! We couldn't use any of the sinks and had to bring water in by bucket. We had too many campers in the room, so it was very crowded. The majority of the staff were very young and inexperienced, as were the people in charge. As in most situations with a young staff, there were numerous problems that an older, more experienced staff would be able to handle. The stress level of the administration seemed very high and the camp director was extremely unpleasant when dealing with staff. There was also an over-reliance on junior "staff" (middle & high school students) in positions they shouldn't have been.
