Pros

I was consistently impressed by how I was managed at Galileo (for context: I had 3 managers over 5 years); they clearly put a lot of effort into developing great managers and teams. The company culture is really fun and silly, as you'd expect for a kids summer camp company. And, they really try to make an effort to include everyone even if they don't have that typical "campy" spirit – although a lot of the HQ team has been promoted from summer staff positions so you see that personality type everywhere. Galileo is a mission-driven organization that actually believes in its mission and uses it to improve itself. While the main goal is to teach kids to be determined, visionary, collaborative and more... working at Galileo HQ will also teach you to be all of those things! You'll see the positive real impact of these mindsets on your work, which will make you even more excited to be a part of teaching them to kids.

Cons

Salaries can't really compare to other bay area businesses; You've gotta be in it for the mission and the people, not the money Since it's pretty small, depending on the team you're in there isn't much growth opportunity. If you come up from summer staff and onto the Field team, there seems to be the most growth opportunity. Also the POD/people and recruiting team has more growth opportunity. But smaller teams like L&D (called PD&T), curriculum, marketing, etc, have very little room for growth.
