Gamber-Johnson Response
6yGamber-Johnson is committed to being a destination employer. Our Joyful Growth events promote social interaction between associates at all levels. Myself and a number of office staff do work on the shop floor periodically during spikes in demand (I personally average at least once per year). Our raises are performance based and reflective of the labor market. For confidentiality reasons, I will not publish our exact average wage increases over the last several years but they have far exceeded the 1-2.5% quoted here. Wage data from the state and region are reviewed annually to check Gamber's compensation levels against the market. We strive to be competitive with our compensation and benefits.
Over the last three years, Gamber has reinvested well over $6 million back into the business. It has increased vacation time. Added a child care benefit. Increased 401k match. Increased bonuses paid (which tie to the company's profitability = everyone profits together). Improved health benefits offered by adding an HSA option with a generous company contribution. All benefits are reviewed at least annually and adjusted as needed.
Executive management closely reviews the input from the annual associate survey and associate suggestions, and appropriate actions are taken in response to that input.
Bottom line - we value all of our associates and back that up with many examples of how we show that appreciation. We have an open door policy, suggestion box, associate survey and monthly company meetings which provide ample opportunities to discuss concerns for associates who choose to do so - and many do.
