Pros
The position itself took some getting used to, as do all new jobs, but I enjoyed the actual work itself. The hours at the time were good. I believe we were working 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM at that time. Those are the pros.
Cons
The policy changes they made included one where you could not even go outside or to your vehicle (on break or lunch), unless you were a smoker. That was definitely a con. The mandatory overtime became a little much. The micromanaging overall was truly annoying, and what I mean by that is that the plant manager, safety manager, and the supervisor would all come out about 1.5-2 hours before the end of the shift and watch everyone and try to "push" us to get even more feet worth of hose finished and on to pallets. I had never seen that anywhere previously, because their jobs were not micromanagement, but were supposed to be management. That was all a huge con. The overall culture of the plant was toxic to say the least. The employees who had worked there for years did not embrace any of the new employees at all, and walked around like they owned the place, and one woman who I worked with got her way since she apparently had the ear of the plant manager and everyone else. She would yell at people and cuss them out and nothing would be said or done about it. That was a major con!
