Pros

Company goals, vision and financial health is transparent and communicated monthly. Not all companies share the good with the bad. Gateway does. Company culture promotes honesty with each other, customers and vendors. Not all companies truly live these values, even if they initially say they do. Freedom to learn even if not initially provided time to do so. I say this because Gateway's emphasis is on improving process and not blaming people. It's ok to fail as long as you learn and improve from it. Gateway is really shifting towards modern technologies and standards. While there is large support of legacy systems, there is huge emphasis and effort being made to provide scalable SaaS solutions.

Cons

There's a lot to do. With the goals of using new technologies and supporting the old, coupled with post COVID staff reductions, this is to be expected. Hang in there. It WILL get better. Work with your manager to communicate frustrations. Use flex time and the option to work from home to avoid a possible burn out. Through time, the processes will improve and staff levels will balance out to eliminate this temporary problem.

Pros

None worth calling out or mentioning.

Cons

After working at Gateway for several years now, I can honestly say this is the worst company I’ve worked for in my career. The place is chaotic, reactive, and draining. There is not enough clear direction, ownership is often messy, and people spend way too much time trying to figure out who is supposed to do what. The company talks about process, but it does not feel consistent. Things are vague until there is a problem, then suddenly everything turns into blame and extra scrutiny. That gets old fast. Management makes the environment harder than it needs to be. There is a lot of checking in, questioning, and asking for updates, but not enough actual support or clear decision-making. It creates stress without solving the underlying issues. Teams do not seem aligned, communication is poor, and employees end up carrying the weight of bad planning. A lot of problems feel completely avoidable. I would not recommend working here. It is not a stable or healthy environment, and the company seems unwilling to admit how much of the frustration comes from the way it operates.
