Pros

Had some fun culture events. A lot of this companies appeal is the remote work environment. HR was great and always seemed to try to make the employee experience better, but there's only so much they could do when CEO and Board doesn't listen to anyone.

Cons

When I started at Genea years ago they had a great culture and many employees that had been their a long time and those people made Genea what it was. The company started not doing as well financially and the CEO panicked and let go some of the best employees that made Genea what it was. All the decisions are made by the Board and CEO and it is run as a dictatorship by just a couple people that are highly out of touch with the employees and their needs. The employees are no longer put first. There is a lot of talk at monthly townhall meetings about how well the company is doing but come time for employee raises they say they don't have the funds, yet people at the top I heard were still getting significant raises. They did a large layoff and let go so some really high performing people that were great culture adds too. There's a couple great people still here, but other than that the company is really going downhill and losing touch of what made it special (the people).

Pros

Incredible momentum, a leadership team that actually "gets it," and a culture that rewards efficiency over just "putting in hours." The shift toward internalizing operations shows a long-term commitment to stability and excellence. Great benefits and a team that feels like a community

Cons

With the rapid growth we’re experiencing, things move incredibly fast. Processes are constantly evolving, so you have to be comfortable with change and a bit of 'building the plane while flying it' as we scale

Pros

Pay and benefits are good but getting worse. Product is good but not groundbreaking. There are some uniquely talented and nice individuals in the organization.

Cons

There are so many, but all revolve around one person the CEO. The HR department is the worst I have personally ever seen. They made mistakes on bonuses, commission checks, and even addresses. They are more worried about pressuring employees to write good reviews on here. Take all recent good reviews with a grain of salt; do your research on the average tenure, especially on the GTM team. The GTM strategy is poor and is led by a CEO who doesn't understand the simplest intricacies. There are a couple of talented individuals on the team capable of leading, but he must have his hand on everything. He did not understand the benefit of a state contract....... Your performance at this organization doesn't matter the only measuring stick is how mindlessly you are willing to kiss up to the CEO. Lastly, they force you to fill out pulse surveys that are not anonymous; people are called out and also fired if they fill them out negatively. Avoid this place at all costs it's awful.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience at Genea did not meet your expectations. While we recognize that every employee's experience is unique, we would like to provide additional context regarding several of the points raised. Compensation and commissions: Paying our employees accurately and on time is one of our highest priorities. We have multiple review and approval processes in place to ensure compensation is calculated correctly. If an error does occur, we investigate it promptly, correct it as quickly as possible, and ensure any necessary adjustments are made. While mistakes are rare, we take accountability for them and continually work to strengthen our processes. Our GTM organization: We are incredibly proud of our Go-to-Market team and what they have accomplished together. The team has delivered record-breaking months and quarters while maintaining employee engagement scores of 94%, well above the industry benchmark of approximately 83% for organizations of our size. While we understand that your experience differed from that of many of your colleagues, we remain committed to fostering a high-performing and supportive environment. Employee surveys: The surveys referenced in your review are our semi-annual employee engagement surveys, which we take very seriously. These surveys are administered through a third-party platform and are anonymous. Individual responses cannot be viewed, and results are only reported for groups that meet minimum response thresholds to protect confidentiality. We cannot see who submitted responses, who did not participate, or how any individual responded. The feedback from these surveys has helped us continuously improve and has contributed to Genea being recognized as a Top Workplace for five consecutive years. We always welcome honest feedback and use it to improve. At the same time, we respectfully disagree with several of the assertions made in this review, as they do not reflect our policies, practices, or the experience reported by the vast majority of our employees.
