Pros
This is one of the better companies in Maine as far as benefits go. There are opportunities through the company to further one's skill sets and education. Having unions ultimately is a pro but there are cons I will delve into.
Cons
Entry level payment is unlivable and competitive pay overall is lacking. The work culture is discriminatory towards women and minorities. Most of the people who work at B.I.W. are white men of Christian faith. Union members can basically say and do whatever they want because it's an old boys club that covers for one another. I witnessed sexual harassment, threats, and the high turnover rate of women flooding in and out of the company. I know women who have been attacked by their coworkers. Everyone looks the other way at the behavior that leads up to that and bullies the men who stand up for the women, lgbt, and poc.
