Pros
Reasonable pay for the work you do with guaranteed raises. $0.75 every six months until you hit top rate and COLA every January. Lots of room to grow and move up or around if you're willing to wait. Very easy to get hired here. They will take anyone, no experience or degree necessary for the trades. Excellent job security. Decent benefits.
Cons
Standing around and doing nothing some days, can be very boring. Things do not get done efficiently here. The work is very slow paced and jobs can take months to complete as material may not be available or there may be other obstacles that prevent you from completing your job. Management on the floor can be very intimidating and hard to deal with. Lots of pressure to do things correctly by procedure and not get in trouble. Impossible to find parking in the morning. Often takes 15-20 minutes to exit the parking lot as everyone is leaving at the same time. Work culture and management can be very intimidating if you're new to blue collar. Every little thing here has a procedure, protocol, or rule. You have to be very mindful of that always. Training classes could be better. Working in the trades here is a trap. Skills are not transferrable if you want to work elsewhere in the trades. You do not get industry experience, you only learn the skills required to work at EB. Overall, working for this company is very overrated.
