      Cons

      Non IT employees, such as myself, have challenges with mobility within the company. In my case, the contract I was supporting was lost and follow-on employment within the company didn't materialize before I found employment elsewhere.

      If you actually put the work in, you are highly likely to get a raise above 2% every year.

      Constantly shifting schedule. Downtime means you are sitting at your desk doing nothing or studying then doing nothing.
