Pros

Good location, great co-workers and excellent lower management.

Cons

Senior management is very deceitful and non-supportive. Cold, uncaring....only cares about the bottom line. Led to believe project was undergoing an internal audit when in reality it was a way to find out how each of us did our job. We were LIED to. After we trained our replacements we were laid off and project was moved to another state. Always told that things aren't going to change and then within weeks they did. Very unsettling, uncertain atmosphere that causes extreme stress. Not a company to be proud to say you worked there. AND...I'm not the only one who feels this way and it's not the only division that has issues. I interviewed with General Dynamics for a position that I was well qualified for but did not get the job. I firmly believe it was because of my age because I had excellent references. You would think a company would help out people that had to be laid off but this is not the case!!!!

Pros

GD-MS seems to win *ALOT* of proposals and contracts. There is always the next big thing at GD-MS.

Cons

Contractors 411: Typically, contracts terminated with no notice. Today will be your last day. Please wrap up your work. It was a very low-rate contract too. Made alot of sacrifices to be on this program. Culture resembled a human wood-chipper ala FARGO. Many senior engineers leaving en-mass. I was asked to take over the role of the engineer who left just prior to my arrival. I called it: I will be next. Good experience once in your life to go thru the human wood-chipper. Toughens you up. However, GD-MS is a great example of how it is that legacy aerospace companies are dying rapidly and startups will be the future in aerospace.
