Pros
Under ATP funds were available for training and my offsite managers encouraged personal development. Onsite there was one person who encouraged learning and was like a mentor. For pay, it’s probably above average for Lincoln, at or slightly below for the defense industry. Benefits are about on par with where most companies are at. When I left I ended up with 3 offers where the salary was from 13% to 21% higher, but ended up taking the middle of the road for base salary as the benefits alone would yield me about a 35+% pay raise.
Cons
After OTS’ takeover all funds for training disappeared and even efforts to do free online training were denied because it would have required about 30 minutes worth of paperwork. The last two years I was there the Finance department had 7 people leave the company in a department of 3-4. OTS would re-structure themselves about every 3-5 months so no consistency in reporting structure or procedures. As for being a good place to work, I’d say that depends on the person. If you’re the type of person who wants to learn and make a difference, then I would say look elsewhere. If you’re satisfied with only being data entry, then there are a few people who are nice to talk to and pass the days.
