Pros

THERE ARE NONE HERE!!!! If I could give this place zero stars, I would!

Cons

If you are on the sales team, you will work under the National Sales Director, Donna Grissom. This woman is an absolute tyrant, bully, and THEE worst, most evil human being I have EVER come in contact with. She is condescending, verbally abusive to her employees, plays favorites, and if you are not a favorite you are treated like trash. Some of the team members were enjoyable, but everyone is operating on such a high level of stress, that people tend to lash out on others on a regular basis. Very unhealthy working environment, there is never any positive reinforcement, and the politics game is in full force pitting employees against each other. CEO brings in his buddies, gives them special treatment, and promotes them over people who actually have loan origination experience.

Pros

Cons hugely overshadow any pros.

Cons

My experience at Genesis Capital was, unfortunately, marked by extreme mental and emotional distress due to the toxic behavior of the woman in charge of operations. Her leadership style not only caused immense personal stress but also set a dangerous precedent for how other managers behave, fostering an environment where disrespect, micromanagement, and unprofessionalism became the norm. Despite having more than a decade of experience and being known for my eagerness to learn, taking detailed notes, and embracing feedback, I encountered an unwillingness to provide proper training or support. Instead, I faced relentless criticism that offered no constructive guidance. This environment severely impacted my health—I became extremely sick due to the constant stress and had to take time off to recover. What makes this situation more disheartening is that there are truly excellent people working at Genesis Capital. However, many seem afraid to speak up due to the real threat of retaliation. I found myself in the same position—afraid to raise concerns or seek help out of fear of professional consequences. This is a clear indicator of a broken culture. To the individual running operations: I hope you read this and seriously reconsider your management style. Leadership should inspire and empower, not degrade and intimidate. This experience taught me a valuable lesson in self-respect. I now know that no job is worth enduring abuse, and I will never allow myself to tolerate such treatment again.
