Pros
Honestly a really fun job, meet all different kinds of people, travel to places you otherwise would never think to, meals, room & board and transportation all paid for by company, lots of opportunities for advancement if you want it, HR & all of Upper Management don’t seem like make believe corporate cubicle characters and honestly treat you as their equal as long as you give them respect.
Cons
Need to enforce a more consistent structure among superintendents. Meaning, a person who worked under Jimmy John would feel as if he was working for a completely different company if he had to transfer to Juan Pablo’s crew. Could enforce core values to certain people, mostly seemed as if it was Production, Quality and then safety in that order based on my experiences. Some Superintendents would truly make you feel terrible for wanting to rotate home every 3 weeks, basically was told if I want to move up don’t go home. “New Guys” on any crew are treated as if they’re worthless rather than taking into consideration that every Superintendent has a completely different system. Very “clique” oriented at the ground level.
