As a former nurse practitioner of Rockford Psychiatric Medical Services (from 2014-2022) and subsequently, Geode Health (2022-2023), I am saddened for my former patients. I gave my resignation in good faith with 30 days notice to leave psychiatry to pursue a new and exciting opportunity in another specialty. The decision of Geode Health to waive the 30 days to allow me to transition patients and provide reassurance to anxious and depressed patients, in my opinion, did not have patients best interest in mind. I would never abandon patients for any reason. But, the choice was made for me. Since I cannot control the narrative of events being told to patients, this forum allows me to do so. I truly wish all of my former patients and colleagues only the best!
