Pros
The benefits are mighty excellent (GW has 96% tuition remission for FT employees...most other universities have done away with such a perk) Very convenient to the metro and good DC neighborhoods The majority of people are friendly, and want to do a good job
Cons
There isn't any room to move up. It's a large organization, so you can move to another department / area of the university to move up, but don't plan on being promoted in your current department / school. Bureaucracy. HR is particularly bad. It takes FOREVER to get people onboard. They're pretty stingy with raises for staff, but not for faculty. The highest staff performers at the university receive 3% increases.
