Pros
I've been at GW for over 5 years and have been impressed with how far the University has come even during that short time in enhancing the sense of community, diversity, and flexibility for employees. I think Senior Leadership is doing a better job at listening to their staff and making changes that speak to their commitment to become a "great place to work." And compared to the experience of my spouse, who works in the high tech industry, our benefits are great - the amount of vacation time, tuition benefits, 10% GW contribution to my retirement, etc.
Cons
GW is a large institution with a lot of different areas of expertise, so often it can feel like there is a divide between the different areas of the University (finance vs. student services vs. academics). It's hard sometimes to bridge the divide and feel like we are all working towards the same overall goal.
