Pros
Good name, history and tradition. First job in DC, so very grateful for the opportunity. Was able to move in between offices when I needed to change job. Decent salary. Love working with students and colleagues.
Cons
Too large and disconnected. Bureaucratic. Too political to the point that the practical gets affected. Some of my move ended up being a salary cut, just because leadership is not willing to address leadership problems. Health insurance is expensive and not worth it. Egregious inefficiency is overlooked if it is within leadership, fairness is not exercised, especially in salaries/duties, no transparency between HR and employees regarding their issues. More specific issues: No Winter Break for staff and very stringent on teleworking.
