PIs are very particular and have little regard for their budgets. Once had a Researcher who, upon me telling them that they could not hire more people, proceeded to hire more people and thus ran out of budgeted funds 6 months early. When they all had to be let go, he sent out a mass email explaining that I was the one who got them fired. Massive headaches and little accountability.
