Pros
So great being able to dress down and also to be able to use the restroom whenever I needed to instead of having to hold it! Likewise, it was nice having flexibility in my schedule and the ability to "take my job with me" while traveling or going to doctor appointments. It was also wonderful to be able to teach without the behavior issues that occur in a brick-and-mortar classroom. Lastly, this was the first time in 15 years that I did not work evenings and weekends! The only time I worked outside of normal hours was during rare occasions when we had a big influx of new students and paperwork that was due. Of course that is because I busted my behind from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but it truly was possible to get the work done as long as you are diligent and do not allow yourself to get distracted by other things in your home. I absolutely loved working from home!
Cons
This is a totally different teaching environment and takes some time to get used to it. It is extremely overwhelming during the first six months due to there being such a huge learning curve. Most new people feel like throwing in the towel at some point during the first six months.
