It's a small pond filled with small minds pursuing small goals. No real opportunities for advancement. Promotions are based on friendships and not qualifications. Pay is low and raises are non-existent unless you are part of the in clique and can get re-classified into a higher position. Racism, sexism and the good old boy network are alive and well. Major decisions are done in secret with lots of dodging and outright lying by senior administrators. Staff is treated like 2nd class citizens and there is no professional development or career ladder for people wanting to advance.
