you get exposed to exciting research opportunities if you are TAing undergraduates the material is pretty basic/standard so that you can get on top of things pretty easily Great flexibility time-wise
Cons
If you TA undergraduate classes you can end up with 60+ students and that takes a lot of time Your salary is not fixed, different people get different salaries for the same TA job. It is up to you to make sure that you get the most out of your deal as some departments are no longer covering tuition for their GTAs
