Pros
Is a good company to work for if environmental consulting is your dream job. Salary tends to be higher than similar position at other companies. Projects can be interesting and unique. Good staff connectivity and project-sharing culture, unlike at other firms. Company culture is overall good/positive/encouraging for junior staff. Hours are flexible and staff generally has freedom to run errands during work hours, if needed, so long as they work 8 hours a day. Bonuses tend to be pretty good but are heavily taxed.
Cons
Very high expectations for quality/quantity of work. Employees must track and report work hours on a 15+ minute basis every day, and completing weekly timesheets with defined project work hours is a pain. Not uncommon to have to work >40 hours per week with no overtime payment for salaried staff. Moderately high junior staff turn-over rate. High pressure to have/maintain billable work from client projects. Some offices/supervisors in the company demand unreasonable work hours/effort from junior staff or field staff to complete project efforts in unsafe/impractical timeframes.
