Pros
they have tricked every insurance company into believing that their customers will be serviced first. this is far from the truth [you can't work on 8 different cars at one time].for this reason only, they have a huge market share and that means a lot of work is coming through the door.
Cons
they try to tell you when you work[outside the normal 40hr week].they want a mandatory 9hrs a day[not counting 1hr lunch]. saturdays are no longer asked for ,its expected. no overtime pay . no raises ever .no bonuses no matter what you do. no sick days . hard to take a vacation[especially in smaller shops with less techs]. equipment is almost never serviced until it breaks. supplies are monitored and rationed so absolute profits can be maintained with no regard to reality . the corporate side of the business has no connection to the industry other than watching numbers. the ability of corporate[boyd group] to understand what they are asking for does not exist. they are publicly traded and look only for the profits . no energy is used to better the industry or even the brand. over the last 15 years a lot has change in the business mostly for the worst and gerber has led that charge for the last 5 years or so . these are not opinions, they are facts that are proven everyday in the shops owned by gerber collision and glass .
