Pros

Steady 9-5:30, Monday through Friday, no holidays Office environment (not a store) Team members are generally nice Little to no micromanaging Relaxed dress code Some shift flexibility for doctor's appointments, etc. If you're looking to punch a clock, do only what's expected of you and get a paycheck this is the place for you.

Cons

-Staring at a computer all day. We are not given (or advised to get) any blue light filters for the computer screens or ways to reduce eye strain. -Work in close quarters to others, your desk is a half-cubicle. -Old, outdated office chairs/desks and computer equipment. -Incredibly harsh Sick Day policy. You are given 5 Days per YEAR to use to call off, after those 5 days are used you begin to get infractions, write-ups and eventually fired. You are punished for getting sick so if you are prone to sickness avoid this place. This policy also puts other team members in danger of falling ill because if you don't have any time left and don't want to lose your job you have to work while sick. -They tell you everything you're doing wrong without giving you any path to improvement. -Coordinators, Team Leads, HR do not reply to you via email, ever, this is probably so nothing is in writing. -Little to no advancement. Despite being a large chain there's nowhere for you to go besides another department and every department has different hours. -Mid year/yearly reviews seem to have little bearing on merit and is one of those places that score you and "no one ever gets a 5." -Forced to use Giant Eagle pharmacies for prescription benefits. -Giant Eagle steals time. No overtime unless it's authorized so any time after the time you are supposed to punch out is changed to the proper punch out time. -If you are a minute late punching in from break Giant Eagle will make sure to dock you that time.

Pros

Generally a good group of people. Work itself isn't terribly hard. Insurance is nice however, the pay is poverty wages,

Cons

Pay is called "competitive" It's competitive in the sense they pay dollars less than their competitors. You will be working solo mostly. There is zero payoff for doing a good job. Raises exist once a year set by union. These raises do not keep up with inflation. ALL PRODUCTS ARE 15-30% more expensive than other stores. Almost no one can afford to shop here that works here. If they do shop here they are paying between 50 cents to dollars more per item. The store is literally ripping off customers and workers. Work is do'able and can be completed if you bust your butt for a bit. The pay off? None. There's no raise, no bonus, they don't remember it for future raises. Working full time and getting between 370 and 500 a week is not livable. They talk about community helping which they do however its the cheapest way to pretend to care vs paying people who work there in the community more so there would be LESS people in need, No sense of purpose.
