Pros

Highly competent and qualified peers. Gilead hires the best in the industry. Good benefits. You will learn more in 2 years than you will learn in 10 years working elsewhere. Exposure to valuable knowledge. RSUs. HR development programs. Great training. Well structured organization. Welcomes change. Good company to learn the job and industry.

Cons

No work-life balance. Overworked - on average 10-12 hours per day. No WFH. No flexible business hours. Uncompetitive salaries. Promotion based on politics versus merit. Hard to move up or around.

Pros

Really enjoyed working with the teams (especially Virology had their processes all in place) within Development. People were great and depending on your team - work life balance was great too! Benefits are also top notch and hard to let go of.

Cons

Reorgs and Leadership someone would fit people into roles, leaders being more talk etc.

Pros

Meaningful, mission-driven work with the opportunity to contribute to projects that can have a real impact on patients. Colleagues are highly knowledgeable, supportive, and generally willing to provide mentorship. Gilead also offers strong resources, exposure to different functions within the pharmaceutical industry, and opportunities to work on high-visibility projects.

Cons

Cons: As with many large companies, decision-making and project approvals can sometimes move slowly because of multiple layers of review. The experience may also vary depending on the specific team and manager, and the number of meetings and internal processes can occasionally feel cumbersome.
