Pros

It used to be pay but with the crashing stock price it is less so with each day . They are increasing the 401k contribution but that is a pro only if you are close to retirement , who knows how things will shape up if you are 20-30 yrs from retirement.

Cons

Where to begin: 1. Way too many roadblocks to get things done , very frustrating if you are young and want to prove yourself. Also very few promotions based on merit , do not expect career growth in this company. 2. Do not join if you are planning to join IT as an employee or contractor , morale is low and there is not much help from senior management. 3. Weak pipeline and the next 5yrs look bleak 4. Burnout in most departments, avoid this place if you want less stress and more happiness

Pros

Meaningful, mission-driven work with the opportunity to contribute to projects that can have a real impact on patients. Colleagues are highly knowledgeable, supportive, and generally willing to provide mentorship. Gilead also offers strong resources, exposure to different functions within the pharmaceutical industry, and opportunities to work on high-visibility projects.

Cons

Cons: As with many large companies, decision-making and project approvals can sometimes move slowly because of multiple layers of review. The experience may also vary depending on the specific team and manager, and the number of meetings and internal processes can occasionally feel cumbersome.
