Pros

- aggressive environment convinces employees to eliminate their social lives , commit themselves entirely to the company, and wait for their stock options to vest before hurrying to the next better-paying job

Cons

- refusal to hire contractors in order to avoid paying out the recruiters and committing to full-time employee benefits - very low salary compensation compared to other comparable companies - bonuses and raises are practically negligible - micro-management from managers who are overworked and not fit to manage people - unprofessional upper-management not interested in contributing to a positive or nurturing work environment whatsoever - the poison of politics lurks heavily in every department

Pros

Really enjoyed working with the teams (especially Virology had their processes all in place) within Development. People were great and depending on your team - work life balance was great too! Benefits are also top notch and hard to let go of.

Cons

Reorgs and Leadership someone would fit people into roles, leaders being more talk etc.

Pros

Meaningful, mission-driven work with the opportunity to contribute to projects that can have a real impact on patients. Colleagues are highly knowledgeable, supportive, and generally willing to provide mentorship. Gilead also offers strong resources, exposure to different functions within the pharmaceutical industry, and opportunities to work on high-visibility projects.

Cons

Cons: As with many large companies, decision-making and project approvals can sometimes move slowly because of multiple layers of review. The experience may also vary depending on the specific team and manager, and the number of meetings and internal processes can occasionally feel cumbersome.
